Buckby Library & Hub Short Story Competition 2026
Our Story Theme is “THE DAY EVERYTHING CHANGED”
Your story can be funny, mysterious, magical, dramatic, heart warming ~ whatever you wish for!
We think you’ll have the most amazing ideas so why join in and surprise us!
Categories & Word Limits:
- Under 12: 300–800 words
- Ages 12–17: 600 – 1,200 words
- Ages 18+: 800 – 1,800 words
Competition Opens: Thursday 5th March 2026
Submission Deadline: Thursday 23rd April 2026
How to Enter:
- Typed entries or handwritten accepted (ideally 12pt font with clear spacing if possible please)
- Please include:
- Name
- Age category
- Contact email/phone (Parents/Guardian details are required please if under 18)
- Word count
- Submit your story and form(s) by:
- Email to : sam.holst@buckbylibraryhub.org OR
- Printed copy handed in at the library to Sam or one of our volunteers
