Due to the latest government advice, we are sorry but there will be no events until further notice.
This includes any event that encourages the public to gather such as Rhymetimes, Social afternoons, book clubs, sewing and knitting groups.
Buckby Library & Hub holds social afternoons on Wednesdays between 2.00 (as soon as the doors open) and 4.00 pm.
As well as meeting and chatting to other people, participants can play cards, scrabble and do jigsaws. They can also take advantage of the other library facilities, browse newspapers and magazines and buy refreshments.
NB while the library has toilet facilities, the toilet cannot at present take wheelchairs (except the folding variety). It is possible to access the facilities with a Zimmer frame or other walker, and we hope to make the toilet fully wheelchair accessible in the future. If necessary, there are fully accessible public toilets just across the road from the library.
Between February and May 2020, Buckby Library & Hub will be trialling a community transport service on the first and third Wednesdays of the month to enable existing and new library members, who do not have transport or may have mobility issues, to participate in the social afternoons. Please click here for more information about this transport.
