National Gardens Open Day REFRESHMENTS

We will be providing refreshments at the Library on Sunday 23rd June 1pm to 6pm. Enjoy all of the local gardens that are opening and do come along for hot/cold drinks and cake with us.

If anyone would like to donate a cake, we would be very grateful as this is a fundraising event for us. Please contact us on info@buckbylibraryhub.org, pop in or call us on 01327 842591 during opening times. All monies raised go towards keeping our library and social hub open for years to come.

Do You Know?

Chat Cafe on Friday 28th June 2024

In collaboration with Northants ACRE Friendship Visits we are hosting a Chat Cafe with free refreshments. Come along at any time between 10.15am and 11.45am to meet others and share ideas.

Family Learning – Digital Skills

Would you like to improve your digital skills, resolve issues? We will be offering support sessions to residents. Please bring your devices along to the library for assistance with anything from help with emails to online shopping. The sessions will be tailored to support your need. There will be more information available on Friday 28th June at the Chat Cafe, with actual sessions on Thursday 11th and 18th July, 2pm to 3pm.

Summer Reading Challenge 2024

The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to keep reading during the school summer holidays – and to choose anything they enjoy to read! It’s free to take part and children can sign up at the Library from 6th July and it runs throughout the school holidays. We will also be running a pre-school challenge for anyone under the age of 4.

Super Summer Children’s Activities

We’re very excited about the amazing “make your own” activities we have coming up every Tuesday afternoon in the summer holidays, 2.30pm to 3.30pm, starting on 30th July, all sessions include a story, a craft and a library hunt. £2.50 per session. Come along to our next fascinating talk about the future of our wildlife by local naturalist Nick Roberts on Tuesday 18th June 2024 at 7.30pm, doors open at 7pm. Free to attend, donations welcome, refreshments available. Please book in advance.

It’s National Volunteer Week and the Big Help Out Weekend

We have been working on a “Volunteer Database” which collates the details of local organisations who have volunteering opportunities and will be launching it on Saturday 8th June at the Library. If you are looking to volunteer in our community please come along between 10.15am and 12.15pm to find out more.
