Olly Oak dreams of playing football and winning the FA (Flying Acorns) Cup at Rumbly Stadium.
This is a FREE event but please do book your space so that we can manage numbers ~ thank you!
After the reading session (30-45mins) parents can purchase signed copies of Olly Oak with 50p from each sale going towards our library nature/environmental subject areas. There will also be a chance for children to draw pictures of, and inspired by, Olly Oak.
Olly Oak is the first adventure in Jon Gilbert’s Tree Fellas series for boys and girls aged 4-8; a mix of fantasy, facts and fun, including hand-drawn illustrations, Jon’s own photos, and activities to help children recognise each species and raise environmental awareness; emphasise the importance of trees to our well-being; and encourage youngsters to help fight climate change and global warming by planting trees.
Tree Fellas are individual species with unique, memorable male or female characters following their dreams and adventures, each Tree Fella designed from a combination of the actual tree, leaves, bark, flowers, fruit and/or nuts to help children (and adults) identify various trees when they go for a walk, bike ride, car or train journey.
